Learn About Essential Worker Care

Before/after care parents will not be charged for care during weeks of virtual learning.

Davidson County

  • Before- and after-care for grade K-4 reopens Tuesday Feb. 9. Weekly fees resume Friday Feb. 5. 
     
  • From Feb. 8 to Feb. 12, Fun Co. will run only two virtual learning sites for grades 5-6. Grades 5-6 return to school Feb. 18.
     
  • Middle School sites reopen Feb. 18.
     
  • After Feb. 12, Virtual Learning is only available through Widji U at the Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center.

Before/After Care free to children of essential workers

Children of workers who meet the eligibility requirements for Virtual Learning Care may also attend Fun Co. at no charge through March 31. To apply:

Montgomery County

Fun Company before- and after-school care has resumed. Families who are eligible and have been approved for the DHS grant will receive care free of charge.

Rutherford County

Rutherford County Schools have returned to in-person learning. Before- and after-care is available at no cost for eligible Fun Company families through our DHS-funded essential workers grant.

If you previously applied and were approved for the DHS grant, you do not need to reapply.

Sumner County

Sumner County is running a hybrid learning model and will reevaluate every two weeks. Before- and after-care is available at no cost for eligible Fun Company families through our DHS-funded essential workers grant.

If you previously applied and were approved for the DHS grant, you do not need to reapply.

Opt-Out of Fun Co.

Parent Information

Parents who choose may opt out of the Winter/Spring for Fun Company; however, in doing so...

  • Parents forfeit their spots for 2021 for their children if they opt out.
  • Parents must re-register if they choose to opt back in and pay the $50 registration fee.
  • Parents who re-register are not guaranteed a spot, and if a site is past its capacity, they will be place on a first-come, first-served waitlist.
  • Parents will be refunded any remaining registration program fees they have paid, should they choose to opt out.
