Program Philosophy
The YMCA is committed to making a dramatic impact on the lives of children and youth while directly supporting the schools they attend. Our programs are designed to foster opportunities for young people to build skills, exercise leadership, and form relationships with caring adults and their communities, using this approach we create environments in which young people thrive.
Our programs are designed with input from our youth and involve and empower youth in their delivery. Youth are actively engaged in their own development. We focus on their strengths rather than weaknesses. We see our youth as assets who can contribute much to their communities and our after school programs provides the setting and critical structure, resources and opportunities that will help your child grow and thrive. Our kids have opportunities to: VOICE, CHOICE AND CONTRIBUTE.
